Differentiation

Directed Differentiation into Specialized Cell Types

The Core Facility established standardized differentiation protocols to generate specialized cell types from human iPSCs for basic and translational research.

Our differentiation capabilities include the differentiation of iPSCs into:

  • Cardiomyocytes
  • Endothelial cells
  • Smooth muscle cells
  • Neurons
  • Neuronal progenitor cells
  • Other cell types depending on project requirements and protocol availability

Following differentiation, we offer cell enrichment and purification strategies to improve the quality and consistency of generated cell populations.

Differentiation services can be performed using iPSC lines generated within our facility or iPSC lines provided by research groups, according to project specific requirements. Differentiated cells can be delivered cryopreserved or as plated cultures ready for downstream experiments.

Quality assessment is customized to each differentiation protocol and may include:

  • Characterization of lineage-specific marker expression using flow cytometry
  • Immunofluorescence staining
  • Gene expression analysis
  • Mycoplasma testing
  • Routine evaluation of cell morphology
