Abteilungsbeschreibung/Description of UZH
The Institute for Regenerative Medicine (IREM) is a research institute of the University of Zurich based on the new life science campus in Schlieren. Here, we offer a Master student project in the group of Prof. S. Hoerstrup and Prof. M. Emmert under the supervision of Dr. S. Motta.

Aufgabenbereich / Responsibilities
Candidates in the field of electrotechnics are encouraged to apply. Our group focuses on the development of tissue-engineered heart valves (TEHVs) that are capable of regenerating upon implantation and compatible with minimally invasive transcatheter techniques (i.e.: TAVI, transcatheter aortic valve implantation). We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Master student to strengthen the development of our bioreactor system for the generation of our biomimetic matrices for TEHVs applications . The main focus will be on developing and extending software and devices to mimic the physiological hemodynamical stimuli of the cardiovascular system in-vitro. In this position as Master student you are responsible for developing and improving bioreactor systems for culturing tissue-engineered matrices.
